For sale – British Territorial War Medal named 406 DVR. W. OWEN. R.A.; British War and Victory Medals named 310127 DVR. W. OWEN. R.A. They come with copies medal index card, and medal rolls.

Driver William Owen was a prewar Territorial serving with the 1/1st Welsh (Carnarvonshire) Heavy Battery (service No 406). Even though he volunteered for active service at the outbreak of the war the battery did not land in France until February/March 1916.

It remained in France for the duration of the war being armed with four 4.7-inch guns it was assigned to various Army Groups as required. He received his new service No 310127 when the Territorial Artillery was renumbered in 1917. He survived the war uninjured.
