72 cm long, nickel/silver plated blade, with a central fuller running from the cross guard about, 25cm long down the blade towards the tip. The blade is in overall very good condition with some light nicks to lower blade edge. The reverse ricasso is marked with acid etched manufacturers logo for E. & F. Hörster, Solingen. The sword has a nickel/silver plated alloy ‘feather’ wing cross guard (stamped 24 to underside) and rotating swastika pommel. The blue Moroccan wrapped leather grip has its original dual strand, twisted brass wire wrap still intact. The nickel/silver plated alloy pommel also features a swastika to both the obverse and reverse with the edge of the pommel displaying an ornate, repeating oak-leave pattern. The sword comes complete with its original aluminium constructed scabbard with a grained blue Moroccan leather covering and nickel/silver plated alloy fittings. The scabbards leather is in overall good condition with a couple of minor scuff marks. The scabbard fittings both show light to moderate age tarnish. Nice early example in overall very good condition. Overall length of the sword in sheath 97.5cm.
