Stanley Francis Jackson was a pre-war regular who served as a Drummer with the 2nd Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment when they were stationed in Palestine pre-war. The 2nd Battalion went on to fight in the fall of France and were landed on the 6th June 1944 at D Day. As he has no further medals it is possible that he is missing his 1939 - 45 Star and France & Germany, or that as a bandsman he remained in England for the remainder of the war. Post war he joined the Territorial Army 21/3/1949 serving with the Royal Artillery (304 Field Regiment) until discharging 12/3/1954. Unusually he was given the new service number 22279723 when he did this.
