William John Dennerley Moore was born in the Thames Valley, New Zealand on 22/9/1880 and was a farmer in the district.

Trooper Moore was a member of 'C' Squadron, North Island Regiment, which formed part of the 8th Contingent, sailing from Auckland onboard the SS Surrey on 1/2/1902, returning to New Zealand in July 1902. He continued to farm in New Zealand and died on 20/10/1962.

Records indicate that he may have previously served with the NZ militia forces and was a member of the N.Z. WW1 Army Reserve between 1916-1917. A great opportunity to undertake further research on this soldier.

This medal comes with some research on his military service and family history.
