Offered is a 1914 – 15 Star impressed named 1047 PTE  SW. TIPPETT. 27/BN. A.I.F.; British War and victory Medals impressed named 1047 PTE  SW. TIPPETT. 27 BN. A.I.F.; comes with WW1 rising sun cap badge (sewn to ribbons) & copied of service records. Samuel William Tippett was born on the 21/9/1888 at London, he was working as a domestic servant when he enlisted into the Royal Navy 27/11/05 and served until 27/4/1907. Service number 364303. However he married 1909 and his occupation is recorded as upholsterer. After emigrating to Australia he enlisted in Adelaide 15/3/1915, he was working as a labourer at the time....

Samuel William Tippett was born on the 21/9/1888 at London, he was working as a domestic servant when he enlisted into the Royal Navy 27/11/05 and served until 27/4/1907. Service number 364303. However he married 1909 and his occupation is recorded as upholsterer. After emigrating to Australia he enlisted in Adelaide 15/3/1915, he was working as a labourer at the time. He was posted to ‘B’ Coy, 27th Battalion and embarked with the unit 31/5/1915 for Egypt. After 2 months training in Egypt landed on Gallipoli 12/9/1915.

He served for a month untill16/10/15, when he was admitted to 7th Field Ambulance and evacuated on Hospital Ship Delta the same day, landing in Egypt 20/10/15. His initial diagnosis was Rheumatism and Nephritis, it must have been bad to be evacuated. He was returned to Australia 20/1/1916 suffering from Rheumatism and Endocarditis. He was discharged with a pension 10/4/1916 in Adelaide and died on the 1/7/68 in South Australia.
