Offered is a British War Medal (1914 ? 18), impressed named 796 DVR. P.J. REILLY. 44-BN. A.I.F. Comes with copies service papers. Peter John Reilly,?was born in Beverley, Western Australia in 1893. A labourer by trade he enlisted into the Army 10/1/1916. He was posted to ‘D’ Company, 44th?Battalion and left from Fremantle, Western Australia, on board HMAT A29 ‘Suevic’ on 6 /6/1916. After training in England, he served with the Battalion in France from the 25/11/1916.? He was posted as a driver with the unit 14/5/1918, and served in that capacity until returning to Australia 1/6/1919 to discharge 22/8/1919....
