British 1822 Pattern Infantry officer’s sword & scabbard by W. Buckmaster & Co. London. Ornate brass backstrap/pommel and branch guard, with royal cypher for Queen Victoria. Fish skin grip with wire wrap, lacking folding langet. Lovely hand engraved details to both sides of the blade, showing trophies of arms, royal crown & floral emblems to 81cm long slightly curved blade. Retains brass 2 ring scabbard. The sword would date from the 1860’s.
