Description

Offered is a English Sheffield made brass gripped naval boarding dagger with military broad arrow numbered 1805.

The knife features a one piece bulbous grip, with large ring pommel & “S” shaped brass cross guard.The 16 cm long steel blade,features the stiletto style double edge blade and maker mark thats largely obscured but clearly of Sheffield, England. The knife shows light use and age staining with very shallow pitting towards point. The quality of the steel is apparent in the keenness still held in the blades edge. Leather buffer between blade and hilt intact. Georgian,early Victorian period. Total length 26.3cm.
