For sale is a Queens South Africa Medal with clasp CAPE COLONY, period engraved Capt W. BROWN. Warrens M.I. which comes with copies of medal rolls.

Only 3 squadrons strong, Warren’s Mounted Infantry was raised in December 1900, working in the western district of Cape Colony in April 1901.

The whole of the war service of the corps was in Cape Colony.

Captain William Brown served with the Warrens Mounted Infantry from 12/3/1901- 12/4/1901. It is highly probable that he served previously possibly in a South African Unit as the annotation S.A. is marked on one of the rolls.
