Offered is a WW1 British Victory Medal impressed named to LIEUT F DE C C J GOOD. R.N.V.R. Comes with copies service record, medal roll, Navy List & London Gazette 1916.

Lieutenant Frederick de Coninch Clements James Good was born in 1887 at Peterhead, Aberdeenshire. He was granted a commission as a Temporary Sub Lieutenant with the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve 8/3/1916. He attended HMS Hermione 18/3/16 for training including instruction in Motor Launches. (HMS Hermione was the HQ Ship for motor launches and coastal motor boats at Southampton).

He commanded M.L 520 for the duration of the war. On the 15/12/1917 he grounded the ship and was disciplined for “Lack of attention to duty and carelessness”.

He discharged in South Africa 6/1/1919, with residence being “City Engineering Office, Bloemfontein, O.F.S. South Africa.

The R.N Motor Launches were mainly used during the war for anti-submarine patrols.
