Was allotted to the 16th Battalion, Promoted to Sergeant 15th December 1915, transferred to 48th Battalion 19th April 1916, Promoted Warrant Officer Class II 1st August 1916, 3 months AWOL demoted by Courts Martial to Private 19th June 1917, also forfeiting 114 days pay, wounded later in the month G.S.W., awarded M.M. 5th September 1918 (most likely for the Hindenburg Line), promoted, demoted all through 1916-18.
