FRENCH INFANTRY SHORT SWORD GLADIUS MODEL 1831

Description

Offered is a French infantry short sword , Gladius model 1831 no Scabbard 

Ribbed brass handle with 2 worn armoury stamps, pommel showing hammer marks (from trooper using end to hammer with). Leaf blade steel in the old roman style shows pitting throughout but this heavy blade is still very serviceable and would make an interesting display piece. Total length 62cms.
