Iron cross 2nd class for the Franco-Prussian war of 1870-1871. 3 part construction consisting of 2 silver frames with a magnetic iron core, Medal measures 41.5 mm across both arms. Silver frames are intact and show no signs of splitting, iron core has lost most of its original black coating how ever is in good condition for its age. Medal comes with a length of original ribbon in good condition.  A great medal getting harder to find in this condition considering this medal is over 145 years old.
