GREEN. HOWARDS. Medals come with corresponding miniatures, being a mounted set of 4, with a loose TEM.

He most likely served with the 6^th or 7^th Battalion (The Green Howards) as these were the only 2 battalions of the regiment to have served in North Africa & possibly wounded/repatriated as he has no Italy or France & Germany Star, which you would expect to be included if he served the duration with either unit.

The 6^th and 7^th Battalions were part of the 69^th Infantry Brigade, 50th (Northumbrian) Infantry Division. In the North African campaign, the brigade fought at the battles of Gazala, El Alamein & Tunisia. It went on to Operation Husky (Sicily Invasion) and landed at Gold Beach on the 6^th June 1944.
