JOLLIFFE 7TH BATTALION WW1 1914/15 STAR MEDAL AUSTRALIAN ARMY ANZAC AIF
Offered is an original 1914/15 Star, as awarded to Frederick Jolliffe, who served with the 7th Battalion A.I.F. Star is impressed named 3791 PTE F. J. G. JOLLIFFE. 7/BN. A.I.F. Frederick John Gilbert Jolliffe enlisted 6/7/1915 in Dandenong, Victoria and was allotted to the 7th Battalion, 12th Reinforcements. RTA 11/5/1916 – pains to back. The 7th battalion was raised by Lieutenant Colonel H. E. “Pompey” Elliott and within a fortnight of the declaration of war in August 1914, embarking just two months later & proceeded to Egypt, arriving on 2 December. It later took part in the ANZAC landing on 25 April 1915, as part of the second wave.
