Sergeant George Hall was born on 23/9/1906 in North Shields, North Tyneside, Tyne and Wear, England. He enlisted into the Army on the 6/1/1925 with the service No 4685208. He initially served with the 2n Battalion Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, qualifying for the India General Service Medal with clasp North West Frontier 1930 – 31.

It is highly probable that he remained with the 2nd Battalion during WW2 and would have served in Burma.

His Royal Artillery Tracer card shows that he joined the R.A. on 19/8/1948 and his death was reported in the Evening News (7/12/1953) stating that Sergeant George Hall had been a Regular soldier for about 29 years.

He died on 4/12/1953 in the City of Westminster, Greater London, England.
