For sale is a British Victory Medal named 13318 PTE. A.J. RAWLINS. R. WAR. R. It comes with copies of his medal index card, medal roll, London Gazette extract, census 1911 and pension record extract. Corporal Arthur James Rawlins was born at Winson Green, England, in June 1896 and lived at 81 Rosefield Rd, Smethwick, Staffordshire prior to the war. He landed in France post 1915 serving initially with the 10th Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment (service No 13318). He was later posted to the 8th Battalion Royal Berkshire Regiment (service number 37895) part of the 53rd Brigade in 18th (Eastern) Division....

Corporal Arthur James Rawlins was born at Winson Green, England, in June 1896 and lived at 81 Rosefield Rd, Smethwick, Staffordshire prior to the war. He landed in France post 1915 serving initially with the 10th Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment (service No 13318). He was later posted to the 8th Battalion Royal Berkshire Regiment (service number 37895) part of the 53rd Brigade in 18th (Eastern) Division.

He was awarded the Military Medal for his actions in October 1918, his rank now being Corporal. London Gazette 17/6/1919. Schedule 224818.

Demobilised on 18/3/1919 with a pension (fibrosis of the lungs) he died in June 1924 in Birmingham, his death possibly being war related.

His name is misspelled 'Rawlings' in the Gazette entry, the Regiment number match Rawlins.
