MINT PRE WW2 ERA 1882 DUTCH NAVY OFFICERS ETCHED SWORD WITH SCABBARD & KNOT
Offered is a 1930’s era 1882 Pattern Dutch Naval Officers Sword with Scabbard & knot. Features a nickel pierced gilded brass guard, with floral designs & central fouled anchor & crown. Gilt bullion wire knot tied to top of the guard, next to the Lion head pommel & plain back strap. The brass wire bound ivorine grip is in very fine condition. The near mint condition 92cm long, curved, piped backed nickel blade shows magnificent etchings of foliate patterns with sailing ships, fouled anchors & royal crowns, being maker marked for Carl Eikhorn of Solingen/Germany. The leather scabbard is in very fine condition, with both brass lockets, with suspension rings present, as is the lower brass drag. Overall length 110cm. A magnificent display sword, which is going to be a favourite amongst your colelction and or perfect single wall hanger.
