Offered is an original late 1944 dated Royal Australian Air Force jacket, named to Warrant Officer Clarence Davey, who was one of the early pioneer airmen of the RAAF, having enlisted in 1925. Khaki cotton jacket, 4 pocket type, with economy plastic officer’s buttons (throughout), brass wings and crowns to stiffened shoulder boards, multiple good conduct service chevrons to right sleeve, above Warrant Officer rank patches to both sleeves and heavily starched/ironed single Long Service & good Conduct ribbon to top of left pocket. One side of top right pocket showing separation, which can be easily repaired. Named to 1944...

Stained and dirty, having been kept in storage for many years in a well know air museum lock up, which tag relates to. Measures - arm inseam 44cm, waist: 50cm and shoulder width: 40cm.
Warrant Officer Clarence William Victor Davey was born 30/9/1897 in St. Kilda, Victoria. He enlisted 10/3/1925 into the R.A.A.F. and served initially as a rigger, seeing service with 1STN HQ, 2nd AD, 4 Sqn & 3 Sqn. he made Sergeant in 1938 and Warrant Officer (Engineer) 1/2/1942. He gained his L.S & G.C. Medal in 1943 and War Medal 1939-45 in 1946, having been medically discharged in June that year. His NAA records retains a photo of him as well as a 47 page document of service.
