***SOLD*** Naval General Service Medal 1915 with campaign bar PERSIAN GULF 1909-1914. Named to 290200 J. J. SULLIVAN, LG. STO. H.M.S. PERSEUS. Leading Stoker John Sullivan was born in Kilgarvan, Ireland in 1882. He served in the Royal Navy and transferred over to the newly created Royal Australian Navy in 1912 for a period of 3 years, being a commissioned sailor for the Town Class Cruiser H.M.A.S. Melbourne. She was one of the main escorting ships to take the 1st Australian Convoy from Albany, W.A. to the Middle East in 1915 as well as the seizure of the German Pacific Islands in 1914.
