The sword features the classic low profile lion’s head pommel, featuring twin ruby set sone eyes and a wire wrapped black ivorine grip with full wire wrap, mounted onto a stylised and decorative gilded brass back strap and ‘p’ shaped guard. The Langet shows 2nd pattern outstrecthed nazi eagle and swastika and monogrammed reverse ‘KB’. The sword features the classic low profile lion's head pommel, featuring twin ruby set sone eyes and a wire wrapped black ivorine grip with full wire wrap, mounted onto a stylised and decorative gilded brass back strap and 'p' shaped guard. The slightly curved nickel blade is 79 cm long and is maker marked to FW HOLLER of Solingen with scales trademark. The blade is in near mint condition, being bright and clean ioverall.
The black enamel scabbard retains the suspension rings for hanging and small style drag. The scabbard is in excellent condition, with very little noticeable enamel loss.
This is an exceptionally well cared for German Officer's sword, being one of the very finest WW2 swords I have come across. Very rarely do you see these swords for sale and in such good condition. This will be a great addition to your collection.
