2001 Golden Jubilee Medal. Features 32mm wide circular gold-plated cupro-nickel medal with scroll and laterally-pierced ball suspension; the face with the head and shoulders portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the St. Edward crown, facing right, circumscribed ‘ELIZABETH • II • DEI • GRA • REGINA • FID • DEF’ (Elizabeth II by the Grace of God Queen, Defender of the Faith); the reverse with the crowned Royal Coat of Arms, dated ‘1952’ and ‘2002’ to left and right respectively; on original ribbon. In-named as issued.

The medal comes with a hand written note showing this was awarded to Leading Aircraftsman 2nd Class A. Mountyor.

The Medal was instituted in February 2002 to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II and was awarded to members of the Royal Household, the armed forces and the emergency services who had completed five years’ service and to holders of the Victoria Cross and George Cross.
