He was working as a farm hand at the Fairbridge Farm School, Pinjarra when he enlisted with the 2/11th Battalion on the 16th November 1939 at Northam. Frederick Arthur Galloway was born on the 5th June 1914 at Mauchline, Ayr Scotland. He emigrated to Western Australia in June 1922. He was working as a farm hand at the Fairbridge Farm School, Pinjarra when he enlisted with the 2/11th Battalion on the 16th November 1939 at Northam. On 30th November the Battalion moved from Northam to Greta in New South Wales, returning to Western Australia to embarked at Fremantle 20 April 1940 for North Africa.
