POST WW2 BRITISH GENERAL SERVICE MEDAL NORTHERN IRELAND & LONG SERVICE MATTHEWS

Offered is a General Service Medal 1962-2007 & Long Service Medal to Sergeant Matthews, who served with both the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers & Adjutant General's Corps.

36mm circular silver medal with ornate scrolled ribbon suspension bar with ‘NORTHERN IRELAND’ clasp; the face with the crowned head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, circumscribed ‘ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F.D.’ (Elizabeth II by the Grace of God Queen Defender of the Faith); the reverse inscribed centrally ‘FOR CAMPAIGN SERVICE’, a Tudor crown above, all within an oak wreath; attributed on the edge to 24558859 FUS T E MATTHEWS RRF; very good condition.

36mm circular silver medal with scroll suspension with ‘REGULAR ARMY’ bar; the face with the crowned head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, circumscribed ‘ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F.D.’ (Elizabeth II by the Grace of God Queen Defender of the Faith); the reverse inscribed ‘FOR LONG SERVICE AND GOOD CONDUCT’; attributed on the edge to 24558859 SGT T E MATTHEWS AGC (SPS); very good condition.

Both medals mounted as worn, with pin & fabric backing.
