Offered is a 1960’s era issued Australian L1A1 S.L.R. bayonet & scabbard..

Bayonet & scabbard features the remains of black enamel finished steel fittings, with pommel & working release button, un-marked metal grips and guard. The 19.5 cm long steel blade shows the ‘blood groove’ to the centre of each side of the blade being nicely sharpened to blade edge, with round spear point, from obvious use. Standard metal scabbard, with very good enamel finish, with retains the black finished we frog. Overall length: 32cm long. A very good example, used with the classic L1A1 Self Loading Rifle (S.L.R.), this piece is most likely a Vietnam War era issued piece.
