Description

Offered is a Western Australian fireman’s ‘Merryweather’ brass helmet.

Heavily toned brass helmet, retaining brass chinscales, with full leather backing and ties. Gilded brass WA fireman’s crest badge, retaining screws to rear and a couple of extra holes, most likely from being used with a previous unit/country. Standard dragon motif air vent comb, this showing many dents and a few small splits, with solid round screws to ridged comb base, service dents, with rear spine firmly attached to the neck guard. Internal fitting screws and lugs present, with full leather liner & drawstring in great condition. No markings or size stamps. All in all, a good helmet, with needing some dent repairs to make this a beautiful piece.
