PRE WW1 BRITISH AUSTRALIAN 1853 SOCKET BAYONET for ENFIELD MUSKET RIFLE
Offered is an original English made pattern P1853 spike socket bayonet for the Enfield black powder rifled musket. Bayonet features steel pommel socket & working locking ring. The 41cm long triangular steel blade shows the shallow ‘blood groove’ to the centre of each side of the blade with good thrusting point. The blades factory sharpened but dull edged with a good bright finish to all surfaces and standard light patina. Overall length: 50cm long, a good used example of a Enfield pattern bayonet, as used in the Crimean War, American Civil War, New Zealand Land Wars and the Indian Mutiny.
