Offered is a British Napoleonic War era Royal Naval Midshipman’s Dirk with Scabbard.

The dirk features an urn shaped brass pommel, with hand carved ivory grip and stylised brass guard. The 43 cm long steel double edged blade retains the integral blood groove and tapered spear blade point. The blade being stamped ‘G’ to forte and is in generally good condition for it’s age. Standard leather & brass scabbard, with a small leather fitting added to chape, most likely owing to leather age shrinkage. A good piece of Napoleonic War history. Overall length: 56cm long.
