Offered is an original Latvian Order of the Three Stars, dating from the early 1930’s. 34mm wide circular silver medal with partial oak leaf border and with loop for ribbon suspension; the face with the insignia of the Order of the Three Stars of a Maltese cross with ball-tipped finials, rays between the arms and a circular central medallion bearing three stars; the reverse inscribed ‘PAR TEVIJU’ (For the Fatherland) above a flaming heart; silver ‘875’ hallmarked on the rim within the oak leaf border on the reverse; on worn correct trifold ribbon. Offered is an original Latvian Order of the Three Stars, dating from the early 1930's.

34mm wide circular silver medal with partial oak leaf border and with loop for ribbon suspension; the face with the insignia of the Order of the Three Stars of a Maltese cross with ball-tipped finials, rays between the arms and a circular central medallion bearing three stars; the reverse inscribed ‘PAR TEVIJU’ (For the Fatherland) above a flaming heart; silver ‘875’ hallmarked on the rim within the oak leaf border on the reverse; on worn correct trifold ribbon.

The order was founded in 1924 and was awarded in recognition of outstanding civil merit in the service of Latvia. The Order was suppressed after the Soviet invasion of 1940 but restored after Latvia regained its independence in 1991. This example dates from the 1924-1940 period.
