The 72cm long, double edged nickel blade is Wilkinson Sword marked, with Made in England details. Offered is a rare 150th Anniversary of Western Australian Police commemorative Wilkinson Sword.
The sword features a gilt brass urn pommel, with a turned jarrah grip, with a fitted WA Police impressed logo to the heptagon langet, which is attached to the downturned classical guard.
The 72cm long, double edged nickel blade is Wilkinson Sword marked, with Made in England details. The full length of the sword blade shows engravings, relating to the historical events of the police force in W.A., including the first police car, pipe band, cycle unit etc. The reverse side of the blade is blank and is numbered 39 to the blade spine.
These were sold within the WA Police Force in 1979, limited in number to 500 and were taken up in limited numbers based on the original high price to purchase. We very rarely see these for sale and are one of the more collectible of the Wilkinson Swords from the modern era.
