Offered is an original 1918 dated, WW2 2nd Military District issued Sanderson First World War 1907 pattern bayonet with scabbard. Bayonet & scabbard features steel fittings, steel pommel, being stamped with an arrow within a letter D (Australian issued) & working release button, very good wooden grips and metal guard, stamped D 2 D with arrow. The 43 cm long steel blade shows the ‘blood groove’ to the centre of each side of the blade and faint Kings Crown stamped for Sanderson (Sanderson Brother, Neubold), being lightly dated 3 ’18 (March 1918). Offered is an original 1918 dated, WW2 2nd Military District issued Sanderson First World War 1907 pattern bayonet with scabbard.

Bayonet & scabbard features steel fittings, steel pommel, being stamped with an arrow within a letter D (Australian issued) & working release button, very good wooden grips and metal guard, stamped D 2 D with arrow. The 43 cm long steel blade shows the ‘blood groove’ to the centre of each side of the blade and faint Kings Crown stamped for Sanderson (Sanderson Brother, Neubold), being lightly dated 3 '18 (March 1918). The blades factory sharpened with a good bright finish to surface. Standard leather WW1 scabbard, with correct metal mounts, with top stamped 2ND MD 48081, showing good honest use to the leather body, being stamped LITHGOW 1916. Overall length: 58cm long.

A good used example of a WW1 bayonet, which saw service within the 2nd Military District (N.S.W.).
