Offered is an original WW2 made 'Admiralty Contract' Wilkinson Sword made 1907 pattern bayonet with scabbard, with only 122,307 being made before the end of the war.

Bayonet & scabbard features blackened steel fittings, with pommel & working release button, good used condition wooden grips and metal guard. The 43.5 cm long  blackened steel blade shows the ‘blood groove’ to the centre of each side of the blade and stamped for Wilkinson (WSC & S294 - this last very faint pressing), dated December 1943. The blade being factory sharpened only, with majority of the original protective finish to blade. Standard leather & metal WW2 issue marked scabbard, with WW2 era mouth piece, showing good  leather body. Overall length: 57.5cm long.

This bayonet fits the SMLE but was actually designed to fit the 9mm Lanchester SMG which was mainly issued to the Navy. This is one of very few of these 'Admiralty' contract bayonets I have seen over the years, with this one being the best condition of those few. Perfect to add to your bayonet collection.
