Offered is a rare Australian made post Second World War made Bayonet with Scabbard.

Bayonet features a steel pommel, with working release button, with wooden grips (stamped SLAZ 52) and metal guard.  The 25 cm long steel blade shows the ‘blood groove’ to the centre of each side of the blade and stamped XMA (Lithgow Small Arms Factory), dated 1953, with a further armoury date for 1954. The blade being factory sharpened only, with a couple of small service bumps. Standard leather & metal scabbard, with Lithgow maker stamp. Overall length: 42cm long.
