W. FARMAN’; on original somewhat worn ribbon.
The medal was instituted to mark the coronation of George V and Queen Mary on 22 June 1911 and was presented in different versions to police, fire and ambulance services. Fewer than twenty thousand medals were awarded to members of the Metropolitan Police. A very good example.
