Bayonet & scabbard features steel fittings, with 'D' & 2/47/R arrow stamped pommel & working release button, lightly used condition, Slaz (enger) 46 stamped wooden grips and metal 'D arrow D' stamped guard. The 43 cm long steel blade shows the ‘blood groove’ to the centre of each side of the blade and stamped for Wilkinson (Wilkinson Sword), being dated December, 1918. The blades factory sharpened, retaining a toned finish to used surface. Standard leather & metal WW2 'Mangrovite 44' stamped, Australian issued scabbard, with round metal frog button, with used, partially scratched leather body. The tan canvas frog is also attached, with written details to reverse. Overall length: 58cm long. A good used example of a WW1 bayonet, as used with the classic Short Magazine Lee–Enfield No. 1 Mk.
