Offered is a very rare US M1 Paratrooper’s Steel Helmet. The helmet retains the majority of the outside olive drab paint to outer shell, with wear to the turned up edges from use. There is a small dent to centre top of the helmet, again from use. The inner shell shows the manufacturers number, which dates this to it’s manufacture in February 1944. The liner retains all of the original straps and the leather para chin cup. This is from a long standing local collection, to which I am most pleased to have secured and am offering for sale.
