RARE WWI US ARMY LONG SWORD SPRINGFIELD GARAND BAYONET SA 1905 SCABBARD

Description

Offered is a WW1 1905 pattern bayonet with inner scabbard by Springfield Arsenal.

Bayonet features brown blued steel guard and birds-head pommel with working release button, wooden grips secured with steel screw pin. The huge 40.5cm long steel blade is maker stamped with manufacturer SA “flaming bomb” logo. The blade is field sharpened with a darkened finish to surface. Rawhide & steel inner scabbard is undented with bayonet hilt push button lockable into sheath body. Completed with patent leather frog and excellent army frog hanger. Overall length: 52cm, in scabbard 55cm.

A good used example of a WW1 US army bayonet, as used with the classic Garand rifle.
