Flight Sergeant Arthur Edward George Spanner was born in London, England on 26/3/1914. He joined the Royal Air Force in about 1933.

Prewar he served in Palestine as aircrew and during WW2 (he would have been aircrew to qualify for the Atlantic Star). He may have been posted to Coastal Command or to the Fleet Air Arm. Post war he continued to serve in Malaya and was a Flight Sergeant when he appeared in a local newspaper dated 1947. He died on 14/7/1971 in London.
