Description

Offered is an original Royal Australian souvenir of H.M.A.S. when she was conducting speed trials. Jarrah plaque, with remains of the intermediate shaft from the gas turbine of the cross connect gearbox, which sheared and snapped, which resulted in the critical failure of the ships propulsion & major oil leak. Mounted above is one of the clocks from the ship. This obviously was ‘trophied’ when the ship was mothballed. A very interesting souvenir and one which is certainly a one of a kind. Jarrah board measures 21cm high, weighing approx 1.5kg.
