1980’s era Western Australia Police Force uniform ‘Akubra’ type hat as worn by Sergeant Patrick Vincent Drew.
Dark blue felt body, with 6 air vents throughout, dark blue & white checkerboard centreband and old style Dieu Et Mon Droit WA Police cap badge, in very good condition, correctly affixed through centreband eyelets/loops. Interior shows the black leather sweatband, stamped for Statesman Hats & pure rabbit fur felt, super fine quality – genuine leather sweat band’. Size tagged 58. A great display piece and rarely seen akubra type hat, which for many Metro coppers was simply impracticle for wear on the beat and was largely discarded, being replaced by the peaked or baseball style cap.
