VINTAGE US ARMY 1902 PATTERN OFFICER’S SWORD & SCABBARD | JB Military Antiques
SOLD

VINTAGE US ARMY 1902 PATTERN OFFICER’S SWORD & SCABBARD

***SOLD*** US Army Officer’s presentation sword, as worn by a US Army Officer before the beginning of WW2. This would date from the 1930’s and features a composite black grip, mounted onto an all nickel back strap and 3 branched guard. The blade has battle & laurel leaf etchings running 2/3 down the length of both sides of the 76 cm slightly curved blade. Good US eagle and ‘US’ motto to etching. The slightly curved blade is in generally good condition, it is maker marked Germany (most likely under contract from Gemsco Swords USA). The scabbard retains both suspension rings for hanging and large style drag. The scabbard shows very little wear and would similarly rate as in good condition. The sword & scabbard fit tightly as you would expect. This is a well cared for sword, but commensurate service wear, please view all the pictures on the listing before bidding. This will be a great addition to your collection. Overall length: 94cm.
