Offered is an original full-sized, unnamed (as issued) The Italy Star with 15cm length of unmounted ribbon. This is one of over 300 we have available, so all examples are in good condition to very good condition, with minor condition differences. The item you receive may vary ever so slightly from the item pictured. The Italy Star was granted for operational service on land in Sicily or Italy at any time during the campaign from the capture of Pantelleria on 11 June 1943 until 8 May 1945, the date of the end of active hostilities in Europe. Operational service in the Aegean, Dodecanese, Greece and Yugoslavia after 11 June 1943, in Sicily up to 17 August 1943, in Sardinia up to 19 September 1943 and in Corsica up to 4 October 1943. Design The six-pointed star is a yellow copper-zinc alloy. The obverse has a central design of the Royal and Imperial cypher, surmounted by a crown.
