Offered is a WW1 Era 1822 Pattern Royal Artillery Officers Sword with Scabbard. Sword features a 3 bar hilt guard with hatched grip back-strap and ball nut pommel. Handle wrap is of shagreen grey sharkskin over wood with triple twist wire brass bidding. The serial 48377 numbered, 88.5cm single fullered blade shows signs of period sharpening that has been cleaned and plated in chrome. Clear etchings are to King George V cypher with Royal Artillery winged lightening bolts and cannon “UBIQUE” motto all surrounded by beautifully executed foliage designs. The metal scabbard is in good condition with a few spot of plate lose rust spots and one shallow dent between upper & lower loose ring hangers, blade slides in nicely. Overall length 110.5cm.
