WW1 AUSTRALIAN LITHGOW 1907 PATTERN HOOKED QUILLON BAYONET MARKED LEATHER FROG

WW1 Australian 1907 Pattern ‘Hooked Quillon’ Bayonet, Scabbard & Leather Frog. Pommel, numbered 30986, wooden grips and steel hilt, 2nd Military District 37299 marked with guard with quillon. 43cm long blade, maker stamped for Lithgow Small Arms & dated 1915. Blade has signs of field sharpening and use, but is generally in very good condition with no pitting or damage. Dark brown leather & steel scabbard in very good condition, with issue stamps, dated 1917. Comes with the original light brown leather frog, stamped AUSTRALIA – C.G.H with broad arrow issue stamp. The 1915 hooked quillon is the rarest of the Lithgow produced bayonets, as most had either had their quillons removed or manufactured without them by this stage.
