A WW1 mystery man. Private later Sergeant, Donald Fraser D Coy 28th Battalion. British War Medal missing suspender arm. Victory Medal damaged suspender loop seperated from medal, but present. Impressed named 2216 SGT. D.FRASER. 28-BN. A.I.F. War medal same but 28/BN. Sold as shown here. Donald Fraser is listed on the 28th Battalion embarkation rolls with his next of kin in Ross, Scotland. He possibly emigrated to Western Australia to work on the Goldfields in Kalgoorlie. His address on enlistment is Northam Western Australia. The embarkation roll records his regimental number as 2216 as is impressed on his medal. However the Battalion history lists 2216 to Pte David Selkirk and 1205 D Fraser T (transferred) to 8th F Coy Eng. Ptd Far Sgt. No trace on the Australian National Archives for 2216 D. Fraser 28th Batt AIF.
