For sale - 1914 – 15 Star, British War and Victory Medals - all impressed named 4038 L.V. JOHNSTON. S.B.A. R.A.N. Court mounted for display they come with copies of service record, Police gazette 1904 and picture of his grave.

Lawrence Victor Johnston was born on 27/5/1884 in Baynton Victoria, Australia & was serving in the Commonwealth Naval Forces, when he deserted in 1904.

On the outbreak of WW1, he volunteered for service on 28/8/1914 with a free pardon for his previous desertion.

Enlisted as a sick berth attendant, he was posted to H.M.A.S. Fantome (sloop) after basic training serving on her from 27/11/1914 – 27/2/1915 in New Guinea qualifying for the 14-15 Star.

On returning he was posted to Cerberus 28/2/1915 – 9/4/1915 and discharged at his own request. He died on 10/101/1967.
