Maker marked to reverse ‘ANGUS & COOTE, SYDNEY’, retaining pin/catch & serial numbered D563 (Supposedly rare Female Issue). Issued from July 1918 to those men eligible for call up, who had volunteered for service by ballot allocation. Rarely seen badge, as the Voluntary Ballot system was wound up as a result of the armistice in November 1918. Scarce.
