WW1 BRITISH ARMY 1918 MILITARY MEDAL TO SAPPER D.MacFARLANE R.E 63rd FIELD COY.

Offered is a Military Medal group of 3 to Sapper Duncan McFarlane. Military Medal (King George V) impressed named 88771 L.CPL D.MACFARLANE. 63/F.COY R.E.; War and Victory Medals impressed named 88771 SPR. D. MC FARLANE. R.E. the medals are court mounted for display and come with a WW1 Royal Engineers cap badge, copies of Medal Index Card, medal roll & London Gazette. London Gazette 21/10/1918 Schedule number 189779. (187,600 – 190,999 covers May – June 1918). Duncan McFarlane or MacFarlane as his name is spelt on different document, was from Dundee but his records did not survive the WW2 Blitz. What is known is that he landed in France post 1/1/1916 as his sole entitlement is the War & Victory Medal. (Sapper Gallacher 8873 was serving in France 7/9/1916 & based on their similar regimental numbers it is possible that McFarlane was also in France by then). The 63rd Field Coy served with the 9th Scottish Division in France for the duration of the war.
