**SOLD** First World War 1897 Pattern British Infantry Officers Sword with Scabbard. Features a nickel pierced nickel guard, with King George V royal cypher & crown design, with full chequered back strap. The wire bound fish skin grip is in very good condition, with a couple of small areas of skin loss. The 83cm long, straight chromed blade shows good etchings of foliate patterns with royal cypher, with maker mark (blemished from plating) for Wilkinson Sword of London. Features a nickel pierced nickel guard, with King George V royal cypher & crown design, with full chequered back strap. The wire bound fish skin grip is in very good condition, with a couple of small areas of skin loss. The 83cm long, straight chromed blade shows good etchings of foliate patterns with royal cypher, with maker mark (blemished from plating) for Wilkinson Sword of London. The spine is marked 'LONDON MADE' with the Wilkinson serial number 51102. There are a couple of blemished corroded spots to blade, but generally very good overall. The leather scabbard is in very good condition, with only a small section of light separation in the stitching to lower spine, with light surface rubbing/wear. This is a good, well kept service sword, which could still be used in service today.
