Offered is a British Silver War Badge, numbered 309185. Comes with copies of: M.I.C., medal roll, War Badge roll and extracts service papers. Leonard Henry Bignall was born in 1896, he was working as a farm laborer when he attested for service 11/12/1915, however he was not called up until 4/9/16. He was posted to the 4th Battalion Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, serving in France 16/12/1916 – 20/4/1917. He suffered a gunshot wound to his right hand on 16/4/1917 and was subsequently evacuated to England for treatment. Transferred to the Labour Corps 12/11/1917 but discharged medically unfit 17/1/1918.
